University of Iowa | Delta Epsilon Chapter

Community Involvement

Alpha Phi prides itself on the value of service and the Delta Epsilon chapter has a strong passion for donating time to our local community. Our members volunteer with multiple organizations in the Iowa City area including: Adopt a Highway, Big Brothers Big Sisters, The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, local food shelves, Best Buddies, and much more.

Many Alpha Phi's participate in the largest student organization here at Iowa known as Dance Marathon. Dance Marathon is a 24 hour event that involves non-stop dancing, no sitting, no sleeping, and absolutely no caffeine! All the proceeds from Dance Marathon go directly to the pediatric oncology unit at The University of Iowa Children's Hospital. This year, Alpha Phi's raised $33,318.30 and helped contribute to the over $2 million raised at Dance Marathon 21.

Our members also enjoy participating in other Greek chapter's philanthropies. A little friendly competition gets our members excited to participate in many external philanthropies such as the Phi Delta Theta Tug Fest, the Sigma Pi Sorority Superbowl, and much more. External philanthropies are a great way to meet other members in the Greek community and for Alpha Phi's to support other charities outside the Alpha Phi Foundation.
